500 Microsoft Lumia 950 and 500 Microsoft Lumia 950 XL dummy units shipped into India

Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL in India. According to the country's Zauba website, which tracks imports into India, the software giant shipped 500 dummy units of the Lumia 950, and another 500 dummy Lumia 950 XL into the market. 

The dummy units are usually employed inside retail stores, giving consumers the opportunity to check out how a particular handset feels in the hand, and whether the phone is a good size for the potential buyer. The phones are already posted on Microsoft's Indian website, priced at the equivalent of $587 USD for the Lumia 950, and $665 for the Lumia 950 XL.

In the U.S., the Lumia 950 will be an AT&T exclusive, and the Microsoft Store will be the only place to pick up the Lumia 950 XL. Some have questioned Microsoft's decision to make AT&T its exclusive partner, especially when Microsoft said that it had interest "across the board" from the major U.S. mobile operators about carrying the entire line.
